In this project, I am working with motifs from textiles that represent my cultural backgrounds. I fabricate the patterns and create stickers that I use on a 2-D surface, overlapping them on top of each other. In overlapping the stickers, I am interested in how the patterns change and become less about their cultural specificity. In installing these works, I use the crates as part of the display. My intention is to have the stickers create the impression that the patterns have been altered during the shipping process.
